About the Founder
A self-described nomad that enjoys adventure-learning travels, it has been a blessing to safely journey across the globe: from exploring the history of ruins around Peru to walking paths of penguins in Antarctica and sharing meals alongside the Sami’s of Norway. A part of my experience includes having reached a personal goal of traveling to all 7 continents! Travel has opened my eyes to learning the uniqueness of different cultures and appreciating education behind experiences while also building long-lasting friendships along the way.
It is my goal to share what I’ve learned from those experiences and help you to build on your own travel stories and adventures.
“Travel doesn’t have to be as hard as it sounds”
A LITTLE ABOUT THE JOURNEY:
I have lived an adaptable and nomadic lifestyle the majority of my adulthood, taking on job opportunities that allowed me to live in various parts of the world. I have found it has helped me appreciate exposure to nature and the charm of local communities alongside other memorable sites and activities. I’ve always had a fascination with traveling, partly because of my early years spent learning about other regions of the world and TV programs seen on Animal Planet and National Geographic. When the opportunities eventually were presented, I appreciated seeing live history and things in person versus education books.
When I first started searching for "package deals" and planning my adventures, it was challenging to understand the best ways to map out the days or times in an organized fashion without it feeling so mechanical and over-commercialized in offering the standard tourist attractions and activities that were not super budget friendly. Leaving room to enjoy time and explore my surroundings is something imperative to my travel style as I think there are definitely missed opportunities to truly appreciate all that a place entails, to include respecting local communities and building relationships with them. I have found that I was not always aware of what was out there while still leaving room for the surprise of those special moments that can’t be scripted. Travel doesn’t have to be as hard as it sounds.
I began to search for a simpler way to plan, so I did a lot of trial and error, mapping experiences while exploring outside 'the norm' activities and managed the opportunity to travel across all seven continents! I began building community relationships, sharing all my insights to help fellow explorers through my lens of experiences.
Narrating personal adventures to friends and travelers has been valuable and encouraging for travel bugs like me to take a different approach or perspective when on travel ventures. I have a genuine passion for helping others and seeing their excitement expressed as a part of their story. I ‘d like to encourage community tourism where people enjoy bonding opportunities with family and friends while building community relationships and being immersed in the educational aspect that travel activities offer and that is what has inspired me to share my idea.
Candid TravelVentures, LLC (formed in the state of Texas) is a start-up business motivated by my love and experience of travel (whether it be independently or with others), learning through travel, and appreciating surrounding beauties within an environment. What I have found over the years struggling with pulling together my own adventures or unique travel is that others have expressed similar challenges as mine. My hope is to address these challenges by offering a user-friendly and visually appealing planning tool that assists users in flexibly organizing their travels.
